The world-famous Harlem Wizards will visit Unionville High School on Friday, Feb. 10 for an evening of great fun and fundraising. Doors open at 6 p.m. and tip-off is at 7. The Wizards will compete against the UCF All-Stars, a team of Unionville-Chadds Ford teachers, principals, and staff from all six of our schools. The event is a fundraiser for the UCF Education Foundation. Proceeds from the event will benefit educational grants awarded to fund innovative projects in each of the district’s six schools. LaMancha Animal Rescue needs supplies and The Residence at Chadds Ford will accept donations for the rescue through the end of February.

Now through March 1, The Residence at Chadds Ford will be accepting donations to benefit LaMancha Animal Rescue. LaMancha is a non-profit, no-kill rescue and is in need of leashes, food, bedding, and toys. Items should be dropped off in the lobby of The Residence, 1778 Wilmington Pike in Chadds Ford.

A new club for dog lovers begins later this month. The Chester County To Love a Canine 4-H Club will be a year-round club focusing on the education of youth who are genuinely interested in learning all there is to know about dogs. The vision is to teach members the rescue world from the ground up with topics like why dogs need to be rescued, where they come from, and more. Members will expand their interests in dogs through career exploration and hands-on experiences related to grooming, following professional advice for care, and using veterinary information and training. This club is open to members, ages 8-18 (before January 1st). The club will meet in Malvern, starting February 19. The 80th running of the Brandywine Hills Point-to-Point is coming on Saturday, April 1. Admission is $25 per carload. Proceeds benefit the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance. The gates open at 11 a.m. and the first race is at noon. The event is at the Myrick Conservation Center, 1760 Unionville-Wawaset Road, West Chester.
