YMCA Brandywine holds a free pickle ball clinic this Saturday.

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is offering a free introductory pickleball clinic this Sunday, Jan. 15. Clinics will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Oscar Lasko YMCA in downtown West Chester. Each introductory clinic will last three hours and feature two hours of instruction from YMCA pickleball pros and one hour of structured open play. All are welcome to attend, and you do not need to be a YMCA member to participate. Guests should bring a valid photo ID.

Storytime at Rachel Kohl Library on Saturday, Jan. 28.

The Rachel Kohl Community Library will hold an author reading and book signing with author Subani Maheshwari on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The readings include two of Maheshwari’s books, Rainbow, Rainbow in The Sky, and Melody the Unicorn and the Beauty Within. Starting Jan. 17, LCH will offer new Health and Happiness workshops to the community. These workshops will provide helpful information on various topics as well as tips to make life easier and more enjoyable. Each session will be presented in English and in Spanish every third Tuesday of the month in the LCH Kennett Square office. Each month LCH will offer a new topic on health and happiness. Topics include Traveling with Medicine, Checking Pulse and Blood Pressure, Reading Nutrition Labels, Health, and Humor, and much more. One Man Two Guvnors opens at DTC on Feb. 1.

Delaware Theatre Company presents the hilariously slap-stick production of One Man, Two Guvnors, directed by Bud Martin in his 10th and final season as DTC’s artistic director. The play runs from Feb. 1-19. The plot has down on his luck and permanently hungry Francis employed by two different bosses at a party that goes horribly awry. For dates and tickets, go here.

All PennDOT driver’s license and photo centers will be closed Saturday, Jan. 14, through Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.  Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services, including all forms, publications, and driver training manuals, online through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website, www.dmv.pa.gov.
