Judy W. Murtagh

Judy’s life was full of family, friends, gardening, fireplace cooking, decorating, and of course Christmas. There was always an element of Christmas in Judy’s world throughout the year. Judy was an avid supporter of her community by volunteering and running some of the local organizations such as Women’s Club, Red Hat Society and Chadds Ford Historical Society.

Her love of Christmas was unmatched by anyone who knew her, and she was one of the most creative people you could know, and it showed in her ability to decorate her beautiful home at Christmas.

She and Dave opened their house for years to friends for the Murtagh annual Christmas Eve Open House, which was the highlight of the year for her. Their homes have been featured in many magazines and on many home tours for their design. With Dave’s architectural passion and Judy’s interior design skills it was a match made in heaven. In addition to her love of design, they also traveled all over the world with friends and family. They’ve spent time overseas in England, Germany, Switzerland, France and Ireland just to name a few.

Eventually grandchildren arrived becoming her new passion which led them to many years of vacations in Disney World where she enjoyed watching their joy in experiencing the magic of Disney.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, Dave, Judy is survived by her brother Jerry, sister Joy, brother-in-law Mike, her four daughters, Tammy, Heidi, Heather and Mandy, son-in-law Jim, as well as her seven grandsons, Christopher, Ryan, Josh, Patrick, Brandon, Kevin and Justin, granddaughter-in-law Natalie, and two granddaughters, Autumn, and Amanda, as well as many other nephews, nieces, and cousins.
