Road Report for Aug. 6 through Aug. 12

PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect drivers in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of Aug. 6 through Aug. 12. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if traveling through one of the construction zones. Work schedules are subject to change.

From Aug. 8 through Aug. 12, motorists should expect lane closures in both directions along Route 1, from Fairville Road to Route 202, for median attenuator installation.

From 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, until 5 a.m. the next morning, motorists should expect lane closures along Route 926, between Creek Road and Route 202, from Birmingham, into Westtown and Thornbury townships.

Motorists should expect daytime lane closures on Route 162 between Route 82 and Scott Road in East Marlborough Township for utility construction. The work is expected to last from Monday, Aug. 8, through Friday, Oct. 28.

Utility restoration will cause daytime lane closures on Cypress Street between Argyle and Leopard roads in Kennett Square through Aug. 12.

Through December, utility renewal will cause daytime lane restrictions on Route 52 between Fairville Road and Wedgewood Drive in Pennsbury Township.

Motorists should expect lane restrictions with a detour for trucks on Route 162 at its intersection with Route 82 in Newlin Township because of bridge repair. There is currently no date for completion.

The Embreeville Road Bridge over the West Branch over the Brandywine Creek in Newlin Township remains closed because of the Sept. 1 flooding. The closure remains listed as indefinite.
