Road Report for July 23 through July 29

PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect drivers in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of July 23 through July 29. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if traveling through one of the construction zones. Work schedules are subject to change.

Southbound Route 1 motorists in Concord Township will encounter a lane closure between Routes 322 and 202 from 9 p.m. Friday, July 22, through 9 p.m. Monday, July 25, for concrete patching operations.

Utility renewal will cause single lane closures during the day on Baltimore Pike between Scarlett and Penn Green roads in Kennett and New Garden Township through July 29.

Utility work will also cause daytime single-lane closures on Union Street in Kennett Square between E. Cypress and W. Linden streets during the day.

On July 28 and 29, motorists should expect single-lane closures on Chatham Road in West Marlborough Township between Clonmell and Greenlawn roads because of utility installation.

Utility renewal will cause lane closures on High Street between Biddle and E. Marshall streets in West Chester from July 14 through July 28.

Through December, utility renewal will cause daytime lane restrictions on Route 52 between Fairville Road and Wedgewood Drive in Pennsbury Township.

Motorists should expect lane restrictions with a detour for trucks on Route 162 at its intersection with Route 82 in Newlin Township because of bridge repair. There is currently no date for completion.

The Embreeville Road Bridge over the West Branch over the Brandywine Creek in Newlin Township remains closed because of the Sept. 1 flooding. The closure remains listed as indefinite.
