Learn about the painters who crashed the artistic gates at the Brandywine River Museum of Art.

Intern Erica Hutchins, an art education major at Kutztown University, will introduce women artists from the exhibit Gatecrashers: The Rise of the Self-Taught Artist in America. The Gatecrashers Gallery Talk is Wednesday, July 27, at 2 p.m. The talk is included with the price of admission. The exhibit runs through Sept. 5.

Music with wine and pizza at Galer Estate Vineyard & Winery on July 30, beginning at 7 p.m.

Galer Estate Vineyard & Winery is hosting a Three Band Party on Saturday, July 30, from 7-10 p.m. Bands include The Pharmers — with winery owner Brad Galer on lead vocals —Restless Diesel, and New Pony Funk. Mezzaluna Wood Fired Pizza and Galer Estate Wine will be available for purchase. Pizza will be offered 3-9 p.m. No cover charge.

Hagley Museum’s Aug. 27 Science Saturday is all about what floats your boat.

Hagley Museum’s Aug. 27 Science Saturday is about boats and water. Learn about buoyancy, density, and how boats stay afloat! Build your own boat and test how much cargo it can hold. Special guests from The Kalmar Nyckel will join the group with a demonstration about buoyancy and how it applies to ships like their own. Visitors of all ages are invited to discover solutions to science and engineering challenges. This is a drop-in activity; feel free to join the fun at any time between noon and 4 p.m. Activities are included in admission and free to members. Wooden boat races are also planned for the day.
