Cool off in a gallery or museum, find treasures at a craft show, and stroll through the open air festivals, surrounded by art at every turn! "At Home" at the Main Line Art Center

A gorgeous and evocative set of exhibitions gives new perspectives and invites conversation. Gatecrashers, curated by Katherine Jentleson and organized by the High Museum of Art, is on display the Brandywine River Museum of Art from May 28th through September 5th, 2022. Night Coming Tenderly, Black features photographs by Dawoud Bey from his acclaimed 2017 series. It is on view in the Brandywine’s Strawbridge Family Gallery from May 19th through August 31st, 2022. The Media Arts Council is hosting the official Grand Opening of the MAC Arts Center Friday, June 3rd from 5 to 7 pm. The space will show exhibitions, host events, and more. The event includes the opening of two new exhibitions which will be on view from June 3rd through June 26th. Inspirational Women, a solo exhibit of paintings by Merrill Weber which was previously at the Chester County Art Association, includes new paintings and new biographies for the paintings written by young women from schools around the area. The Center also will show Big French Dance – A Documentary Exhibit. Featuring photographs from a project by Ron and Fay Stanford in the 1970s, who spent two years in southwest Louisiana documenting regional French music. The LP record they produced, J’Étais au Bal, Music from French Louisiana, included extensive liner notes and photographs. This unexpected time capsule of Louisiana life is a treasure for art and music lovers alike. The MAC Arts Center is located at 11 E. State Street, Media, PA. The David Katz Gallery debuts a new show, Unplugged, during First Friday in Downtown West Chester. The stunning pieces showcase the beauty of the natural world, with views and textures inspired by life beyond the screen. There is an opening reception Friday, June 3rd from 5 to 8 pm. A brand-new show is opening at the Church Street Gallery, Hard and Soft, a solo exhibition of paintings by Portia Mortensen. Feel like taking a drive? The Penn Dry Goods Market at the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center will be held Friday, June 3rd from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday, June 4th from 10 am to 4 pm. The textile-focused antiques and vintage show includes a textile history lecture series with nationally and internationally known speakers. On Friday, June 3rd at 5 pm, the June Art Loop takes over Wilmington, DE. Twenty spots on the tour will feature local and new artists alongside longtime favorites and traditional exhibitions. The Wilmington Art Loop is held every First Friday in Downtown Wilmington. This month’s Loop will be held Friday, June 3rd from 5 to 9 pm. A complimentary shuttle will run between the stops from The Delaware Contemporary, 200 South Madison Street, Wilmington, DE, DEContemporary.org. The Main Line Art Center has a Spring Pop-Up Shop on view through June 18th. There is something for everyone, and it is the perfect way to find a gift for every summer occasion! They will also host the Opening Reception for the AT HOME exhibit on Friday, June 3rd from 6 to 8 pm. The event will include a Curator Talk, Drag King performance by teaching artist Joy Raney as Henlo Bullfrog, and PRIDE celebration! Registration and proof of vaccination is required. Stop and smell the roses—or see them in vivid detail at least!—at Beautiful Blossoms at Square Pear Gallery. Featuring gorgeous still lifes, landscapes, and close perspectives of all types of florals from nineteen local artists, this show runs through July 3rd. The Howard Pyle Studio will show artwork by Members of the Studio Group during the June Art Loop in Wilmington, DE on Friday, June 3rd from 5 to 7:30 pm. The Studio is also hosting a Group Show at Opera House Arts & Antiques at Rodney Pratt Framing & Gallery through June 22nd, located at 304 Delaware Street, New Castle, DE.

The Three J’s join together for a group exhibition at the Oxford Arts Alliance. Featuring the work of John Sauers, Jonathan West, and Justin Woytowitz, all local artists, the plein air landscapes bring emotion to the natural world. The Emerging Artist Gallery will show the work of Oxford Area High School Art Student Rebecca Sharadin with A Collection of Silly, Little Drawings. Both are on view through June 24th.
