Chadds Ford Township is looking for volunteers to help landscape the playground are on Friday, April 22, in honor of Earth Day.

Chadds Ford Township is looking for volunteers to help beautify the township park playground on April 22 in honor of Earth Day. Work involves landscaping, planting, mulching, and seeding the area in and around the playground behind the municipal building. Township Manager Maryann Furlong said this will be a community event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the township will provide lunch.

The Chadds Ford Township residents Association holds its spring roadside cleanup Saturday, April 23. Volunteers should meet at the municipal building at 8 a.m. Safety vests, trash bags, coffee, and donuts will be provided.

The Unionville Community Fair is on April 22 at the Red Clay Room in Kennett Square.

The Unionville Community Fair is Friday, April 22, from 6-9 p.m. at The Red Clay Room in Kennett Square. Dance to live music and enjoy roast beef sandwiches, stuffed shells, and a salad bar. There will also be caricature drawings, a 50-50, and gift raffles. Casual dress. Tickets are $40. But online at www.ucfair.org.

Still have old eyeglasses lying around — readers or prescription lenses? The Media Lions Club wants them. The club is looking for eyeglass donations and works in conjunction with The Residence of Chadds Ford and Concord Township. Donation boxes are in the glass atrium at The Residence, 1778 Wilmington Pike in Chadds Ford, and in the lobby at the Concord Township municipal building on Thornton Road. COSA — Delaware County Council and the Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging — will host the Celebrate Age Senior Living Expo at Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack in Chester, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 6. The theme for the expo is Age My Way an opportunity for all of us to explore the many ways older adults can remain in and be involved with their communities. Guests to the expo will be able to “Ask a Pharmacist” from PerformRx questions regarding medications. In addition, SEPTA will be available to assist with obtaining/renewing a SEPTA Senior Fare Card, which enables senior citizens age 65 and older to ride free on all Transit Routes and Regional Rail in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. If interested in obtaining a Senior Fare Card, please bring proof of age.
