Police Log Jan. 19: Thefts, crash, criminal trespass

A police report said six people, unidentified, ate $230 worth of food at Buffalo Wild Wings on Dec. 12 but fled the restaurant while the server was getting the check.

Avondale Barracks

Police are investigating the theft of almost $700 worth of merchandise from the Walmart in East Marlborough Township on Dec. 21. According to the report, two people, not identified or described in the report, switched price tags on 15 items and, using self-checkout, paid only $10 before leaving the store.

A 17-year-old driver was cited for excessive speed following a one-car crash in Pennsbury Township on Oct. 30. The accident happened on Pocopson Road north of Brinton Bridge Road shortly after 5 a.m. According to the report, the driver failed to maintain his lane of travel, crossed the double yellow lines, struck an embankment and a utility pole. The vehicle, a 2002 Nissan Frontier, then wrapped around the pole. The driver was not injured, police said.

Kennett Square Police Department

Jamie Weaver, 49, of Avondale, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass for an incident that happened on July 19 of last year, a police report said. According to that report, Weaver entered a business through a window and took equipment without the other co-owner's knowledge. Charges of criminal trespass were filed, and Weaver was arraigned and processed on Jan. 11. The case is pending a preliminary hearing.
