All four lanes are open again on the Route 1 bridge over the Brandywine Creek between Chadds Ford and Pennsbury townships. Work crews removed the lane restriction signs and left the area Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 15. The lanes had alternately been closed since June because two support pedestals had deteriorated. Barring the unexpected, all four lanes of Route 1 from the creek to Route 202 will remain open until spring, when the road is scheduled for repaving.
