Chadds Ford Township announced that the township has been awarded $500,000 from the Delco Green Ways Grant Program, which will be used for the Walkable Chadds Ford Trail Project. Walkable Chadds Ford is a multi-modal trail plan to create safe connectivity and mobility in the Village Historic District.
According to the announcement, this will improve accessibility between museums, retail stores, and restaurants that are located on opposite sides of busy Route 1.
Construction is proposed to start and be completed in 2022. The multi-modal trail is planned to connect the Brandywine Battlefield Park and Chadds Ford Township with the Brandywine River Museum and the Chadds Ford Historical Society.
