In an email Kot wrote: “I received a call from our guest of honor, Steve Barrar, unfortunately, he tested positive for COVID this morning [Monday, Oct. 4]. He said he had a slight cough Saturday evening and decided to get tested today. He currently just has a mild cough. Hopefully, his symptoms will remain mild, To be cautious, he wanted me to let everyone know although Steve did not feel he was close to most of us during the event. “

In a follow-up email, Kot said Barrar wanted people to for their own sake, and that he is fully vaccinated, and that it should be a mild case.

She also said everyone at the event Saturday had been contactded.
