Richard V. Camp of Chadds Ford

Richard V. Camp, 90, of Chadds Ford, died peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 26, with his family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Barbara (Smith) Camp.

Richard V. Camp

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Willis and Rosalie Camp and brother to the late Ruth Hallas. He was the loving father of Dean (Diane Gallo) and Dana (Jeff Davis), as well as the grandfather of Colby & Mitchell Camp and Jen & Brad Davis.

Dick, a career financial advisor, and an empathetic manager offered good counsel to the many people fortunate enough to work with him. He started in the industry in 1950, officially retired in 2000, and then acted in a consulting capacity and as a goodwill ambassador to the team that he started. He was proud of the fact that his grandson joined the team in August of 2020 making him the third generation of Camps in the industry.

He enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing — or as he called it “catching” — and traveled extensively with his family. He was a wonderful storyteller and always had something to share with those he loved and with those he just met. The many people who were blessed to know him will remember him by his smile, his unfaltering positive attitude, and his earnest concern and respect for all.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Dick to the Christian C. Sanderson Museum: www.sandersonmuseum.org or P.O. Box 153, Chadds Ford, PA 19317.
