Police Log April 21: Theft; cycle crash; shots fired

Police are investigating the theft of a rustic plow from a property in Concord Township. The theft happened on Bethel Road and was reported on March 14.

A 74-year-old motorcyclist from New Castle, Del. was injured when he lost control of his Harley Davidson on Route 202. The accident happened at 4 p.m. on April 17. According to the police report, Theodore W. Buresch was southbound when he lost control just south of Ridge Road. The bike hit a guardrail and Buresch was ejected, and he hit the rail again. He came to rest on top of the guardrail. Concordville Fire and Protective Association transported him to Crozer Hospital.

Kennett Square Police

Police in Kennett Square arrested two people involved in shooting a firearm into an occupied residence on April 10. Arrests were made on April 15. Police identified the suspects as Christian Sanchez-Franco, 18, and Ivan Castano-Castenada, 17. Police said Castano-Castenada is being charged as an adult because of the nature of the offense. Both suspects were charged with three counts of aggravated assault, weapons offenses, recklessly endangering another person, and related assault offenses. According to the report, the pair walked to the victim's house and, standing outside, fired five rounds from a semiautomatic pistol into and in the direction of the bedroom of the house where three people were located at the time of the incident. The investigation determined that this was not a random incident but instead is related to a verbal altercation between a resident at the targeted house and the offenders, police said.
