Police Log March 3: Storage facility broken into, sexual assaults

State police said they arrested 61-year-old Brian Peters, of Brookhaven, for DUI following a traffic stop at Routes 1 and 202 on Jan. 25. The report said Peters displayed signs of impairment.

Police are investigating a break-in and theft at Extra Space Storage on Route 202 in Concord Township on Jan. 28. Approximately 100 storage units were broken into after their locks were cut off. Surveillance footage shows three unidentified suspects using bolt cutters on the locks. At least $8,000 worth of items were stolen.

Jacob Murray, 20, of Chadds Ford, was arrested for DUI, according to a police report. Police said Murray was found under the influence of alcohol with open alcoholic beverage containers in his vehicle parked behind the Naamans Creek Road Wawa shortly before 3 a.m. on Feb. 7.

State police are investigating a report of a rape that allegedly took place on McMullan Farm Lane in Pennsbury Township sometime between February 2012 and February 2013. A report said her brother allegedly raped the victim. Anyone who may have information is asked to call state police at 610-268-5640.

Police are investigating the report of an alleged sexual assault in East Marlborough Township. According to police, a 16-year-old girl from Kennett Square reported that she was raped once by a former boyfriend and again while at the beach. Police received the report on Feb. 16.  Anyone who may have information is asked to call state police at 610-268-5640.

A 60-year-old man from Rising Sun, Md. and a 49-year-old woman from Oxford were arrested on drug possession charges in East Marlborough Township on Jan. 20. The suspects were not named in the report. Police said the arrest came after a traffic stop on Route 1. During the investigation, the report said, a trooper found drug paraphernalia in the car and later found there was an active warrant for the driver in York County.

A 14-year-old girl was arrested for stealing a cigarette lighter and a can of pepper spray from the Walmart in East Marlborough Township on Feb. 16. The value of the property was less than $11.

Police said a 25-year-old woman from Philadelphia was arrested for DUI in East Marlborough Township on Jan. 23. The report did not identify the woman but said troopers initiated a traffic stop for traffic violations shortly after midnight on East Baltimore Pike at Greenwood Road.

According to a police report, someone cut off a catalytic converter from a 2006 Ford Club Wagon in Pennsbury Township sometime between Feb. 19 and 22. The culprit left the converter under the vehicle.
