Sylvia M. Meloni of Glen Mills

Sylvia M. Meloni, 87, of Glen Mills, died Monday, Jan. 11. She was born in the Bronx, N.Y. to Nicholas and Rose Perrucci Serafini. Sylvia lived in Glen Mills, for 20 years, previously living in Thornton, Pa. and Wilmington, Del.

A homemaker, Sylvia volunteered for more than 40 years at the DuPont Children's Hospital where she received the "Hall of Fame Recognition" award in 2019. Devoted to her Catholic faith, she was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church. Sylvia worked part-time for the Century 21 Real Estate Store and also her daughter's law office in Media.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Art Meloni who died in 2001, and a sister, Loretta Giuliano. She is survived by her three children, Douglas (Maria) Meloni, Karen (Steven) Sibbers and Kathryn A. Meloni; six grandchildren, Gina (Rob) Kaufman, Michael (Amanda) Meloni, Steven Meloni, and Jessica, Joshua and Sarah Crampsey, and three great-grandchildren, Gianna Kaufman, Alessandra, and Luca Meloni.

A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, 6-8 p.m. at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, and also on Friday at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Rd., Chadds Ford, from 11-11:45 a.m., followed by a noon mass.
