Kenneth Robert Renn, 77, of Chadds Ford, died peacefully at his home with family by his side on Wednesday, Dec. 16. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and grandfather. He loved traveling with his wife, working with his hands, fixing things, and treasured his time with family.
Ken was born on Jan. 31, 1943, in Shamokin, to the late Howard and Rita Zelinskie Renn. He is predeceased by his only sibling, Daniel H. Renn, who died in 2019, and his sister-in-law, Josephine Roma Renn, who died in 1982. Ken was a graduate of Trevorton High School in Shamokin, and the Williamson College of the Trades in Media. He began his career at Virginia Electric and Power Company and worked for years as a computer technician for The Foxboro Company, retiring in 2002. After retirement, he spent time working at Longwood Gardens and with Acts Retirement-Life Communities.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of more than 55 years, Susan Simcox Renn of Media, and by his three children, Laura Renn Kauffman (Chris), Keith Robert Renn (Kathy), and Amy Susan Renn. He is lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren, Courtney Kauffman, Lauren Kauffman, Samantha Renn, Kyle Renn, Ethan Renn, Rachel Renn, Alyson Barnes, Ashley Barnes, and Jessica Renn. He is also fondly remembered by his extended family, including brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and by his friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Middletown Presbyterian Church in Media. Interment will follow at the Media Cemetery, Media. Due to Covid-19 concerns, the family asks that the services be private.
