Christmas in Miniature at Barbara Moore Fine Art Gallery runs through the end of the year.

It's been going on for 39 years, and even COVID-19 isn't stopping it. The "it" is Christmas in Miniature at Barbara Moore Fine Art Gallery in the Barn Shops in Chadds Ford. The event began in 1982 when Moore was the director of the former Chadds Ford Gallery.

Moore said in an interview a few years ago that the idea was to give people an inexpensive way to buy high-quality art from professional artists. Moore has maintained the tradition in the four years she's owned her own gallery.

Things are a little different this year because of the pandemic. While customers are more than welcome to shop in person, the selection is also available for online browsing and buying. And there won't be any light refreshments at the gallery this time.

"All I can offer is an elbow bump and a cup of coffee on the way out, and a smile behind my mask," Moore said. "It's still a neat event, and the artwork is always good."

Christmas in Miniature runs through Dec. 31. For more information, call 484-776-5174.
