Former sheriff hospitalized with COVID

It’s being reported that former Chester County Sheriff Carolyn Bunny Welsh is hospitalized with COVID-19 and that people who voted at Chadds Ford Elementary School on Nov. 3 get tested for COVID. Welsh manned a Republican table inside the school during the election.

Former Sheriff Carolyn Welsh is being treated for COVID-19.

The information was reported Saturday by Wayne Braffman, of the Kennett Area Democrats. He cited two social media posts. He added that Welsh manned the table from 6:15 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. and that she rarely wore a mask.

However, Pennsbury resident Pat Barron who worked the polls with Welsh, said he has spoken with her since she tested positive. He said she contracted the virus the weekend after the election while at a family gathering and was expecting her to be released sometime today, Sunday, Nov. 15.

Barron also commented on a photo circulating that shows Welsh not wearing a mask while at the GOP table in the CFES vestibule. He said he was the one who took the photo and that Welsh only removed the mask for the picture.
