It's the Fall reading Challenge at Delaware County Libraries.

Delaware County Libraries invite all residents to participate in the Fall Reading Challenge. There is a program for every age group, from infants to adults. For our youngest readers, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten is available to help parents keep track of books read. This program is ongoing and runs all year long. For kids and teens, libraries are offering “The 7 Strengths of #SuperReaders Challenge.” Adults are invited to participate in the “The 7 Deadly Sins” reading challenge. The Chester County Historical Society is offering a mum, cabbage, and ornamental kale sale with discounted prices for those who become new members or renew a lapsed membership. Flu shots available at UHS on Oct. 1.

Unionville High School has partnered with Chester County Health Department to serve as one of their Community Flu Vaccine Clinics again this year. The Unionville Flu Clinic will take place on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Unionville High School. All families and community members are encouraged to attend and receive a flu vaccine from the Health Department. In order to ensure proper social distancing during this event, attendees must register in advance. If you wish to participate, please register here.

It’s run or walk from wherever you are. That’s Kennett Symphony’s Beat Beethoven 5K for this year. It’s a virtual race — either a 5K run or a one-mile walk — set for Oct. 3 or 4, based on the participant’s schedule. The idea is to finish your race before the last chords of Beethoven’s Fifth. There’s also a 50-yard dash for kids 6-years-old or younger. Go here to register. Registration is $25.
