International Overdose Awareness Day, Aug. 31

Last year, 110 pinwheels were displayed at the Chester County Government Services Center on International Overdose Awareness Day – representing the 110 lives lost in 2018 to accidental drug overdose. This year’s display of pinwheels will represent an additional 104 lives lost to accidental drug overdose in 2019.

As part of Chester County’s commitment to tackle the opioid and heroin epidemic, the County’s Department of Drug & Alcohol Services announces the County’s participation in “International Overdose Awareness Day” on Monday, August 31, 2020. Joseph Ormond Birmingham Jr., 51, of Landenberg, died suddenly Friday, Aug. 21, as a result of an automobile accident.
