There's a new bakery in town.

OSO Sweet Bakery Café is now open in the Barn Shops in Chadds Ford Township. The little shop is behind Barbara Moore Fine Art Gallery and Arden & James in the same location as the former Chad Café and features coffee, tea, latte, soups, scones, and more. Open Thursday through Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except for Friday when it’s open from 8 a.m. to noon, then from 5 to 9 p.m. with live music Friday evening. • The AMC theater in Painters Crossing is reopening next Thursday, Aug. 27. AMC has said their theaters have been and will continue to be sanitized. Masks are required but may be removed while eating and drinking. Seating will be restricted to 30 percent capacity.

Darlington Arts Center is ready for onsite and online classes.

• Darlington Arts Center is gearing up for onsite and online classes. Group classes, including preschool and academic year dance classes, are set to begin onsite Sept. 8. Safety precautions include social distancing, classroom sanitation before and after each class, and others. If Darlington is forced to close due to state mandate, classes will continue online to ensure the continuity of arts enrichment. • State Sen. Tom Killion is holding a Kids’ Drive to benefit the Maternal and Child Health Consortium of Chester County this Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon at the East Goshen Township Building located at 1580 Paoli Pike. Killion and staff will be collecting non-perishable food, diapers, school supplies, and other items.

• Delaware County Council is reminding residents that resources are available to assist residents affected by Hurricane Isaias. The Red Cross Disaster Assistance Line provides information on emergency disaster relief and case management. Residents can call 877-272-7337. Those affected may also get assistance with housing through the Community Action Agency of Delaware County at 610-874-8451.

It's two for one at Mt. Cuba Center, but only for a short period of time.

• Mt. Cuba Center, recently voted the Best Botanical Garden in North America, is offering a free ticket with the purchase of a general admission ticket of equal or greater value. The offer is valid for tickets purchased online by Aug. 31. For more information and to buy tickets, go here.

• Chester County Art Association will close for two weeks beginning Saturday, Aug. 22. It will reopen the day after Labor Day, Tuesday, Sept. 8. CCAA will also operate with reduced hours this fall and be closed Sunday through Tuesday.
