Concord Township’s next Summer Concert at Smithbridge Park Pavilion is Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.

From Aug. 17-21, Darlington Arts Center is offering Marvelous Mysteries, an in-person, 4-Arts detective adventure. Youngsters will discover and solve mysteries or create a mysterious story of their own. It’s part of Darlington’s Summer Camp, and campers will hold a performance for friends and family at 2:30 on Friday. Lynne Robinson

PAWS for People, the Newark, Delaware-based pet therapy organization, received the Delaware Small Business Chamber’s Voters’ Choice Award for Delaware’s Best Nonprofit. Lynne Robinson, PAWS executive director, accepted the award at DSBC’s Annual Meeting and Blue Ribbon Awards brunch at Deerfield Country Club on July 30.

The next plein air event with Chester County Art Association is next Thursday, Aug. 13. The one-day workshop with Mark Cole is at Anson Nixon Park in Kennett Square from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for CCAA members, $35 for nonmembers. All plein air event participants must follow state-issued health and safety guidelines like observing the six-foot rule and wearing a mask. John Theilacker

The Pennsylvania Land Trust Association recently recognized the Brandywine Conservancy’s John Theilacker, AICP Certified Planner, with an award for his 22 years of conservation advocacy and land use planning work throughout the Commonwealth, a press release said. During his time at the Brandywine Conservancy, as an associate director, Theilacker has worked tirelessly helping Pennsylvania municipalities develop practical, innovative ways to balance protecting and enhancing natural resources while supporting community resilience.
