Academic Achievement July 3

• Wes Gurnee, of Chadds Ford, graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University, College of Engineering, with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and a minor in mathematics.

• Amelia Giordano and Michael Bechtold, both of Chadds Ford, were named to the James Madison University Dean’s List for the spring 2020 semester. Students who earn dean's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899.

• Robert Monachello, of Chadds Ford, was named to James Madison University president's list for the spring 2020 semester. Students who earn president's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.900 or above. Monachello is a biology major.

• The University of Delaware has named nine Chadds Ford area students to its Dean’s List for spring semester 2020. Those students are Clare Catanzaro, Chase Corbitt, Madison Holt, Eric Kang, Jeffrey Lin, Claire Mottola, Yash Jitendra Oulkar, Megan Sapp, and Benjamin Schenk. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.
