Reminders for the green phase

With Chester and Delaware counties now in the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf's reopening plan, some reminders may be needed. Being in the green does not mean a return to normalcy.

Wearing masks is still required when entering a business, and businesses with in-person operations need to adhere to updated safety requirements found here.

Additionally, restaurants and bars may now have indoor service but are limited to 50 percent capacity. That 50 percent capacity also applies to hair salons and barbershops, but service is by appointment only. Gyms, spas, and other personal care facilities are also restricted to 50 percent capacity, with appointments recommended. Large public gatherings are limited to no more than 250 people.

There is also a list of requirements for organized sports and athletics, including social distancing and face covers. That list may be found here.

General guidelines remain in place. They include masks, social distancing of six feet, handwashing, sneezing and coughing into your elbow, and staying home if sick.

Chester County officials have also added a call center service for business and resident questions on reopening guidelines and practices. That number is 610-344-6225 and is operated by Chester County Health Department staff, with input from members of the County Commissioners’ COVID-19 Business Task Force.
