Delaware County’s Services for the Aging (COSA) and Community Transit are partnering to offer seniors an alternative to in-person grocery shopping. Community Transit drivers are available to get grocery lists and payment from seniors, then shop and deliver their items. The cost of shopping and delivery will be subsidized by COSA. To contact Community Transit, phone 215-900-2519, or send an email to grocerydropoff@ctdelco.org

• Kennett Area Community Service is partnering with community organizations to make sure that no one goes hungry during this stressful time. Historically, KACS receives over 90 percent of the food it provides from donations by the public and local grocery stores. With the arrival of COVID-19, KACS had to suspend receiving food donations from the public and has not been able to pick-up at local grocery stores. Cash donations have helped to supplement the existing stockpile but purchase limits at stores and funding limits have made it difficult to keep food available. Working with other local non-profits, KACS has figured out a way to receive donations of shelf-stable foods on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kennett YMCA. The top 10 food items needed are rice, jelly or jam, peanut butter, canned fish/chicken, canned fruit, canned vegetables, pasta, cereal, tomato sauce, beans and coffee and tea. Please consider donating some shelf-stable food to this community effort or making a cash donation at  https://www.kacsonline.net.
