The Delaware County Symphony is looking for musicians.

The Delaware County Symphony is looking for some talented string players. Interested musicians are urged to visit the symphony’s website — dcsmusic.org — to complete a member interest form. Established in 1971, the symphony is dedicated to providing outstanding musical experiences for the residents of the Delaware County region and performs four symphony concerts and four intimate chamber concerts each year. The symphony concerts feature outstanding professional soloists as well as challenging symphonic repertoire and the chamber concerts provide opportunities for orchestra musicians to play diverse chamber music selections. Rehearsals and concerts take place in the 300-seat Meagher Theater at Neumann University in Aston.

Matt Cappy to play the Kennett Flash on March 6.

 The Matt Cappy Band will perform at The Kennett Flash on Friday, March 6. Tickets are available at www.kennettflash.org. Advance tickets are $15, and tickets at the door will be $20. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8.

 The Jazz Cocktail Hour at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center will present More Than Your Jazz Standards, featuring Sara Michaels and Sharon Sable on Thursday, March 19 at 7 p.m. As host of the Jazz Cocktail Hour, Michaels — who has long been inspired by Sable — will be showcasing a fresh, new approach to her own Jazz N’ Blues repertoire. The Jazz Cocktail Hour is a popular monthly program that offers a variety of regional, national, and international talent from September through May. Tickets can be purchased at UptownWestChester.org, at the box office, or call 610-356-ARTS(2787).

 Ace Hardware in Pocopson Township is hosting a pet nail trimming event on Saturday, March 14 from 9-11 a.m. No appointment is necessary.

 West Chester Studio for the Performing Arts at Uptown! is holding its third annual Future Stars Gala on Saturday, March 14 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center and feature live performances by educational groups from WCStudio including the Uptown Singers, West Chester Studio Singers, and others. While the adults mingle and bid upstairs, there will be plenty of opportunities for the kids to have fun downstairs. In the lower level green room, children will be invited to join the performers from 1–1:45 p.m. to play theater games, hang out, and see how performers prepare and get ready for a show.
