“The True Story of Cinderella” comes to Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center on Feb. 9.

The Brandywine River Museum of Art opens a new exhibit, Votes for Women: A Visual History, on Saturday, Feb 1. The exhibit commemorates the 100th anniversary of women getting the vote in 1920. There is a concurrent exhibit, Witness to History: Selma Photography of Stephen Somerstein, which explores the 1965 civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery, Ala. Votes for Women runs through June 7; Witness to History runs through June 14.

Sculpting classes get underway at the Chester County Art Association next month. Basic Sculpture: Learning to Think in 3 Dimensions begins at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7. Students will develop techniques of basic sculpture and how to build an armature and a sculpture using oil-based clay. For more information or to register, go here.

It’s a musical retelling of Cinderella at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center. Opera tutti, or “Opera for all,” presents “The True Story of Cinderella” as a comic, fractured mini-opera at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9. Uptown! The Neumann University Center for Leadership today announced details on its next public program, Women in Leadership, set for Thursday, Feb. 13, on the campus of Neumann University in Aston. This event will be held at Neumann University’s Meagher Theatre, located within the Thomas A. Bruder, Jr. Life Center. The program is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Rachel Kohl Library will hold a 40th-anniversary fundraiser at Il Granaio on March 25 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets — available at the library — are $100 per person and include a four-course dinner and a glass of wine. Attendees may also bring their own wine and champagne.

The Chadds Ford Historical Society will hold its 12th annual Paint Out Chadds Ford on Saturday, Feb 8 with an opening reception and wet paint sale from 6-8 p.m. at the Barn Visitors’ Center. Tickets are $10 and available at the door. There will also be a free reception Sunday, Feb. 9 from 1-5 p.m.
