Sexual assault in West Grove

Southern Chester County Regional Police are investigating a sexual assault that took place in West Grove on  Jan. 22. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-50s, bald and heavy set. He was wearing khakis, a light blue “contractor style” shirt with white piping and the name Jeff was embroidered on the shirt.

The incident took place at a residence on Columbine Drive in the West Meadows development.

The victim, in her early 20s, was home alone and on the phone at 4:44 p.m. when she answered the door to find the suspect. She let him in under his guise of being there to complete some home repairs. According to the report, the suspect assaulted her and she lost consciousness.

The relative on the phone heard the victim screaming and called 911. Police arrived to find the victim but the suspect had fled. The victim was taken to Chester County Hospital. The preliminary investigation showed the victim to have been physically and sexually assaulted.

Police are investigating the incident with assistance from Chester County law enforcement and the District Attorneys office. Residents are asked to contact police if they observed anything unusual or might have home video surveillance.
