Police Log Nov. 27: Harassment, purse snatch

Pennsylvania State police from the Media barracks said a 43-year-old woman was arrested for harassment following an altercation on Ellis Drive in Concord Township on Nov.13. Police identified the woman as Dorianne Dougherty of Boothwyn. The report said Dougherty got into a verbal argument with a 43-year-old man and the argument led to the assault.

The Southern Chester County Regional Police Department is investigating a strong-arm robbery that happened on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Crescent Road. Upon returning home after grocery shopping in Hockessin, police said, an 82-year-old woman pulled into her garage and began to exit her vehicle when a man shouted, “Give me that.” The suspect then ripped the purse from her hands. He fled on foot with the victim following behind as she screamed for help. The suspect entered the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in front of a neighboring residence, made a U-turn, and fled the development. The victim was not injured. Her purse and contents, including a cell phone, credit cards, and cash, were stolen.
