The Brandywine Ballet launches its 40th season on Oct. 24.

The first performance series of Brandywine Ballet’s 40th anniversary season begins next month. The fall program titled, Carmina Burana, will feature three dynamic and different works by resident choreographer Nancy Page and a new contemporary dance piece by Tim Early and Rick Callender. The curtain goes up 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24. Tickets are $25-$42 and can be purchased online at www.brandywineballet.org or by contacting the box office at 610-696-2711.

October 7 is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 5 general election

State police from the media barracks will have a child safety seat event on Sept. 21.

The Pennsylvania State Police Media barracks invites you to our Child Car Seat Safety Check event Saturday, Sept. 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Rocky Run YMCA, 1299 W. Child passenger safety technicians will teach you how to properly install your car seat and answer your child passenger safety questions.

It’s moss madness at Mt. Cuba Center from 10 a.m. to noon on Sept. 25. Study a variety of native moss species and learn how to successfully grow these miniature marvels at home.   Runners of all ages and ability will be heading to Natural Lands’ ChesLen Preserve in Coatesville to race through beautiful terrain at the ChesLen Chase for Open Space. The 10K, 5K, and 2-mile trail race is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, beginning at 11 a.m.. All proceeds benefit Natural Lands’ efforts to save open space, care for nature, and connect people to the outdoors.
