Pattie Burns says farewell to longtime bank customer David Buck during her last day at the BMT bank in Chadds Ford. Burns retired on June 28 after more than 30 years at the same location.

West Chester Studio for the Performing Arts at Uptown! presents “Junie B. Jones The Musical Jr.” Thursday, July 11 at 1 p.m. and Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Brought to life by young actors in WCStudio’s Kid Show Camp, the production is an adaptation of four of Barbara Park's best-selling books. Join Junie B. on her first day of first grade. Tickets are just $5 each, making it an easy family outing that all ages will enjoy. Uptown! Heather Gillis with special guest The Blues Reincarnation Project will perform at The Kennett Flash on Friday, July 12. Tickets are available at www.kennettflash.org. Advance tickets are $15, and tickets at the door will be $18.

Gable Music Ventures has announced the lineup for the eighth annual Ladybug Music Festival, happening on Thursday, July 18, and Friday, July 19, along Market Street in Wilmington. The live music block party, created as a free to attend alternative to Firefly Music Festival, boasts a lineup of over 100 artists, many traveling quite a distance to perform at the event. Artists from Canada, Ohio, Tennessee, Boston, and Los Angeles are among the artists that attendees can expect to find. Organizers at Gable Music Ventures have decided to pull together a band they’re calling “The Ladybugs of Soul” to pay tribute to Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner and more to close out night one on the main stage right on Market Street on the festival’s longtime home, 2nd& LOMA (lower market).

Camp Chaddsford, an adult summer camp for wine lovers returns to the Chaddsford Winery on Saturday, July 20 and July 27. Outdoor activities include friendly team-based games like Corn Hole, Mad Libs, Case Box Challenge, Kickball, Volleyball, and Riddling Rack Toss. There’s also a Chaddsford tie dye tee shirt station where you can create a one-of-a-kind tee to take home, a build-your-own-burger bar lunch and a specially-curated wine tasting featuring exclusive wine cocktails from Chaddsford Winery. Times are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the winery located at 632 Baltimore Pike. Tickets are available to purchase online for $65.

Setting out a water bowl for dogs gives new meaning to the phrase belly up to the bar. Saturday, June 29 was Wag and WIne in the courtyard of the Brandywine River Museum of Art.

 

Re-enactors fire muskets at Thornbury Farm on July 3. It was part of the official grand opening of Artillery Brewing Co. at the farm and, according to farm owner and brew company owner Randell Spackman, it was done to “celebrate the last day that Americans were subjects of the crown.”
