Love goes to the big house

Chadds Ford’s Deborah Love is going from one board to another. She spent 12 years on the Chadds Ford Township Board of Supervisors and is now an inspector with the Delaware County Prison Board.

Former Chadds Ford Township Supervisor Deborah Love is now an inspector with the Delaware County Prison Board.

Love was one of three members appointed by the Board of Judges last month. Her term expires Jan. 31, 2020. She said she was contacted a month ago to fill a vacancy and that she was contacted because she’s a woman with a career in health care. She is a registered nurse.

Love said she’ll bring her healthcare background to the board “to recommend and offer optimum wellness to residents of the facility.”

She added that she learned there are many behavioral  health supports offered but wants to “learn what other wellness supports — medical and surgical — are available or need to be made available to that community.”

Prison Board Chairman John C. Hosier welcomed Love to the board in an email on Jan. 31 and offered to have her tour the facility. She takes that tour next week.
