The Chadds Ford Historical Society will hold Escape Brandywine events on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. This escape room experience occurs inside an authentic historical house with a Revolutionary War mission. Escape Brandywine places participants into roles of spies on the eve of the Battle of Brandywine. Using real 18th century spy techniques, codes and cyphers, players have 60 minutes to solve puzzles, locate battle plans, and escape to deliver the plans to Gen. George Washington. Design Zone, a new exhibit at the Delaware Museum of Natural History opens this Saturday, Jan. 26.

A new exhibit at the Delaware Museum of Natural History opens a new exhibit this Saturday, Jan. 26. Design Zone is an interactive, hands-on exhibit where visitors can explore a variety of creative concepts to learn the processes and tools needed to create a successful design. Design Zone is organized into three thematic zones, all highlighting the importance of science and mathematical thinking in areas critical to building creativity and innovation: art, music, and engineering. The exhibit runs through May 12. Admission is $9 for ages 3-59, $8 for seniors, $3 for children ages 1-2. It’s free for babies under 12 months and for museum members.

The Board of Supervisors of Chadds Ford Township has determined that an updated Village Community Plan is necessary to determine the impact of the Walkable Chadds Ford project on what is currently known as the “Village.” A community forum— the first of two on the subject — will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. in the township building at 10 Ring Road.

PAWS for People will be conducting training for potential pet therapy teams in Kennett Square during February. Sessions are planned for Mondays Feb. 14 and 28 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at The Friends Home, 147 W. State Street. Anyone with a gentle, people-friendly pet who is interested in volunteering time to work with children and adults with varying needs should attend.
