Marcos Almonte

Almonte was not available for comment and New Castle County police in Delaware have not responded to phone calls. However, Roger Erdvig, the headmaster at WCS in Hockessin sent an email to school families on Jan. 10 saying the school had been made aware of allegations and placed Almonte on leave and that police had been called.

“…[W]e were made aware of third-party allegations of misconduct between Mr. Marcos Almonte, part-time high school teacher, and one of our students…Since this matter is now in the hands of law enforcement and an active investigation is underway, we cannot comment any further on any details of the case at this time. However, we will provide additional information as we are able,” Erdving said in the email. “We ask for continued prayers as we walk through this challenging situation, and that God will minister His Grace to all of us.”

Almonte was let go from Wilmington Christian School as of Jan. 8.
