Academic Achievement Jan. 15

Maura McManus, Class of 2021, from Chadds Ford, was named to the dean's list at Bucknell University during the fall semester of the 2018-19 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition.

Michaela Clarkson, of Chadds Ford, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2018 semester at the University of Vermont. Clarkson is majoring in environmental sciences in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources. To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

James Madison University graduated more than 930 members of the campus community. Commencement ceremonies took place in December 2018. Among the graduates was George Biddle, of Chadds Ford, who earned a degree in anthropology.

Matthew Edward Foster, of Chadds Ford, graduated Dec. 20 from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in financial management. Foster was among more than 1,600 fall semester graduates from Clemson.
