The Chester County Youth Orchestra will be performing on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. at Fugett Middle School. The concert, featuring young Chester County musicians, will benefit Safe Harbor of Chester County.

The annual Christmas in Miniature exhibition gets underway on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Barbara Moore Fine Art Gallery in the Barn Shops in Chadds Ford Township. More than 40 artists — painters and photographers — will have smaller sized pieces on display for sale. The exhibit runs from 1 to 8 p.m. on the opening day. After that, the show runs Wednesdays through Sunday until Dec. 31.

Another Christmas tradition continues at the Brandywine River Museum of Art this month. Brandywine Christmas returns to the museum on Friday, Nov. 23 and runs through Jan. 6. Brandywine Christmas includes the O-gauge model train display, a holiday family favorite since 1972. The Brandywine Railroad features trains running on 2,000 feet of track and includes more than 1,000 pieces, including locomotives, passenger and freight trains, and trolleys that pass through a small town, a farm, factories and even a carnival. In addition, Critter ornaments will be on display and for sale beginning Nov. 29.

Winterthur continues the holiday celebrations with Enchanted Winter Day for families on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors may take a “sleigh ride” on the decorated garden tram, complete with holiday music and candy canes for the kids. All trams stop at Enchanted Woods children’s garden, also decorated for the season with greens and bows and a holiday tree covered with ornaments made of natural materials. Admission is $22 for adults; $20 for students and seniors; and $6 for ages 2–11 and includes the Yuletide Tour. The event is free for members. For more, visit winterthur.org.

Winter holiday traditions continue with the annual Candlelight Christmas at the Chadds Ford Historical Society. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1. The event highlights the society’s historic buildings, decorated with symbols of the season. Candlelight Christmas is held at the three historic properties and the Barn Visitors’ Center of the Chadds Ford Historical Society on Creek Road. Admission is $15 per person; $10 for CFHS members. Tickets can be purchased online at www.candlelightchristmasinchaddsford.com or at the CFHS Visitor Center beginning Nov. 16. Guests with online ticket purchases must pick up tickets at the Visitor Center before touring the houses. Parking is free. The event runs from 1 to 6 p.m.
