Margaret A. Bell Parrett of Chadds Ford

Margaret A. Bell Parrett, 96, of Chadds Ford, died Monday, July 9.

She was born in Wilmington and was the daughter of the late Joseph Bell and the late Edith Bell.

Margaret was married for 63 years to Carl A. Parrett and lived in Chadds Ford. Her husband, Carl died in March of 2004.

Margaret worked several years for the Chadds Ford school district. Yet, most of her time was spent raising her family and taking care of their home.

She was a member of the Bethany United Presbyterian Church of Mendenhall since 1965. Margaret was very active in the church over the years as a deacon, elder, a Sunday school teacher, a clerk of session and a member of the Ladies Aid and Lend a Hand.

Margaret loved cooking, baking, sewing, flower gardens and camping with her family.

Margaret is survived by two sons, Joseph H. Parrett (Barbara) of Chadds Ford, and Donald M. Parrett (Andrea) of West Grove; one daughter, Susan K. Plumley (George) of Kennett Square; a daughter-in-law, Judy Ann Parrett of Chadds Ford, PA; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Margaret is predeceased by her son, Carl D. Parrett; two brothers, Lloyd W. Bell and Robert Bell; as well as a grandchild, Carl J. Parrett.

You are invited to visit with Margaret’s friends and family on Friday, Aug. 3 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church Mendenhall, 316 Kennett Pike, Kennett Square, PA 19348. A service for Margaret will follow at 11. Interment will be private with family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church, 316 Kennett Pike, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
