• Science in the Summer is coming to the Rachel Kohl Library on July 18 and 19. The program is free and is designed for elementary school students in grades two through six. The class for second- and third-grade students runs from 10 a.m. to noon; the class for the older students is from 1-3 p.m.

Darlington Arts Center is offering dance classes for youngsters 2-3 years old. Tiny Titus classes begin July 23 and run for eight consecutive Mondays through Aug. 20. The half-hour-long classes are conducted from 3:30 to 4 p.m. The cost is $60. Children are introduced to classical ballet technique, vocabulary, and rhythm through games and fairytale stories. • Delaware County Libraries is collaborating with Upper Darby Summer Stage this summer by giving library patrons special sneak peeks of shows and exclusive ticket discount offers on their performances of The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Jr.,Freckleface Strawberry the Musical, and A Year with Frog and Toad! From now until Aug. 3, Delaware County residents can visit StoryWalkat Rose Tree Park and read Frog and Toad are Friendswritten by Arnold Lobel. Upper Darby Summer Stage’s production of A Year With Frog and Toad is a musical written by Robert and Willie Reale based on Lobel’sFrog and Toadchildren's stories. StoryWalk at Rose Tree Park is free and open during park hours. The StoryWalk is geared for children ages 1 to 7. Delaware County Libraries is an agency of county government that provides support services for 26 independent member libraries. • The Alejandro Escovedo Band will perform at The 2018 Mushroom Festival in Kennett Square, on Saturday, Sept. 8, in a show presented by The Kennett Flash. The concert will also serve as a benefit for the 501c3 Performing Arts Center.  88.5FM WXPN will co-present the concert along with The Flash. Last year's sold out concert with 10,000 Maniacs helped to raise over $12,000 for the 10-year-old listening room, which serves all of Chester County as well as Wilmington and Newark in Delaware, and in Northeastern Maryland. Showtime is 8 p.m. General admission is $35, $55 for VIP seating.
