Police Log June 27

 Pennsylvania State Police

• State police from the Media barracks are investigating the theft of 27 Xanax pills and makeup from a home on Drayton Way in Concord Township. The incident was reported June 1.

• Police said Joanne Scudder, 28, of Havertown, is suspected of trying to steal a purse from a restaurant patron in Concord Township on April 8. No other details were released other than the accused was stopped before the theft was committed. The investigation was continuing.

• A state police report said Maria Helena Barboza, 60, of Wyncote, is suspected of stealing seven items from Mykonos on Route 202 on May 2. The value of re items in question was reported to be $800.

• Someone broke into two vehicles parked on Johnson Farm Lane in Concord Township during the overnight hours of June 10-11. The unknown suspect stole power tools and outdoor equipment, police said.

• Police said an unknown suspect gained access to the bank account of a 47-year-old Concord Township woman in May. The suspect then made seven transactions totaling more than $30,000.

• An unidentified motorist was cited for speeding after running into the rear of another car stopped for traffic on Route 202 at Pyle Road on June 5 at 4:28 p.m. No injuries were reported. 

Southern Chester County Regional Police 

• Antonio Moreno, 18, of Kennett Square, was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses, after the 2001 Honda he was driving was stopped for traffic violations at 10:45 p.m. on May 7, police said. The incident happened in the 300 block of Bucktoe Road, in New Garden Township. Police said they detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and that Moreno admitted to having smoked marijuana a short time earlier. He also admitted to being an unlicensed driver, which was confirmed through a records check.

• Joel Esparza-Gonzalez, 22, of Landenberg, was arrested and charged with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act and with public drunkenness after police responded to a call about an unconscious male on the side of the road. The incident occurred on May 5 at 4:50 a.m. in the 400 block of Hillendale Road, in New Garden Township. Police found Esparza-Gonzalez sleeping on the side of the road and once awakened he was found to be intoxicated. Upon being taken into custody, he was also found in possession of marijuana, the report said.

• Police said Randall L. Lynch, 58, of Landenberg, was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses, after the 2011 Ford he was driving was stopped for moving and equipment violations on May 12. The incident happened at 12:21 a.m. in the 400 block of Egypt Run Road, in New Garden Township. Police said they observed indicators suggesting intoxication and field sobriety tests confirmed impairment. Lynch was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and submitted to a chemical test of his breath, resulting in a blood alcohol level of 0.126 percent.

• Miguel A. Rodriguez, 32, of Oxford, was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses, after the 2001 Chrysler he was driving was stopped for moving violations at 1:40 a.m. on May 13. Police made the stop in the 8800 block of Gap Newport Pike, in New Garden Township. Police said the detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and observed an open bottle of beer in the console. Rodriguez admitted to having smoked marijuana a short time earlier and to not having a driver's license.
