Roadwork for April 21 through April 27

PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of April 21 through April 27 Motorists are urged to allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones. Work schedules are subject to change.

  • Lane restrictions will be in place Tuesday, April 24, through Friday, April 27, at the intersection of Birmingham Road and Wylie Road in Birmingham Township, for resurfacing operations.

• Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, April 30, to rehabilitate the bridge carrying Pocopson Road over Pocopson Creek in Pennsbury and Pocopson townships. PennDOT’s contractor will be removing and rebuilding three of the four wingwalls and performing other miscellaneous repairs on the structure. Due to the nature of the repairs, Pocopson Road will be closed and detoured between Route 926 (Street Road) and Parkersville Road through the completion of the project scheduled for September.

• Daytime lane restrictions are scheduled Monday, April 23 on Chadds Ford Road/Creek Road between the Delaware state line and the Delaware County line in Pennsbury Township, for paving.

• Barrier installation continues to cause indefinite lane closures on Brandywine Creek Road, between Green Valley and Powell roads, in Newlin Township.

• There will be road closures and detours for road widening on Station Road, between Conchester Highway and Partridge Lane in Concord Township from March 26 through April 27.

• Station Road, between Concord Road and Conchester Highway, in Concord Township, is closed through Oct. 20, for road construction. Detours are posted.
• Beginning April 2 and going through May 18, road widening will force closures and detours on Cambridge Road between Conchester Highway and Marlborough Lane in Concord Township.

• Sunoco Pipeline has closed Route 352 at Boot Road in East Goshen Township, for pipe installation. The restriction is only for trucks traveling south and turning onto Boot Road. The daily closure will remain in effect through late December.

• Periodic lane restrictions continue through Oct. 20, on Conchester Highway, between Route 1 and Foulk Road, in Concord Township.
