Mt Cuba Center’s 14th annual Wildflower Celebration is Sunday, April 29.

• Concord Township Council is hosting its recycling day on Saturday, April 14. Bring your unwanted electronics, shredding and gently used household items and clothes for responsible disposal and recycling. In addition, the Delco Mobile Drug Collection Unit will be on site for residents to dispose of their unwanted or expired medications. One TV or CRT will be accepted per Concord Township resident. Proof of residency is required.

• Chadds Ford Township’s recycling and roadside cleanup day is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, beginning at 8 a.m. at the township building.

• Bike Kennett, a volunteer group that encourages riding bicycles and advocates for trails, sidewalks, and bike lanes, is hosting several events in the coming weeks.  On Saturday, April 14, Bike Kennett is hosting a beginner level road ride for riders of all ages and fitness levels.  During this 5-mile ride down Chandler Mill road and back, riders will learn the basic skills needed so that they can be safe while riding a bicycle on the road. Anyone who wants to become more confident on the road is encouraged to attend (however, no training wheels or balance bikes are allowed).  The ride takes place at 9 a.m. on the second Saturday of every month and begins at Pennock Park in Kennett Square. Helmets are required.

• Main Line Health Fitness & Wellness Center will host a one-day Fitness Festival at the Main Line Health Fitness & Wellness Center, 1020 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills,  Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Guests can attend some of the latest classes like Spivi® Cycle, MetaFit™ or Barre, get asthma, balance, glucose and cholesterol screenings, meet with health and fitness professionals and shop local wellness vendors.

• Barbara Moore Fine Art Gallery invites you to attend and view, Jacalyn Beam: Impressions, opening Wednesday, April 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. A talk with Beam is scheduled for the following Wednesday, April 25, 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit continues thru Sunday, May 2. • The Sanderson Museum has a new exhibit opening on April 18, Sanderson Strings: Singing Through History. The exhibit will feature a demonstration of two of Chris Sanderson’s violins. The opening is from 5-7 p.m. at the museum. Light refreshments will be served.  Limited space available, RSVP today. There is no admission to this event; however, donations are greatly appreciated. • Mt Cuba Center’s 14th annual Wildflower Celebration, an homage to the fleeting beauty of spring, is coming Sunday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free celebration includes live music, children’s story time and the opportunity for the first 1,000 families to take home a free native plant, as well as gardening demonstrations and a chance to explore Mt. Cuba Center’s naturalistic gardens at the peak of their springtime bloom.  More information is online, here.

• This summer, visitors may explore 13 whimsical garden follies displayed throughout the estate for Winterthur’s first garden exhibition and enjoy the awe-inspiring fountain display at Longwood Gardens using just one admission ticket. From June 4 to August 31, visitors will be delighted by two glorious du Pont gardens, located only minutes apart in the historic Brandywine Valley just outside of Philadelphia. For $34, visitors can see both Longwood Gardens and Winterthur, as well as take a guided tour of the Winterthur mansion, at a 20 percent saving.
