Roadwork for March 3 through March. 9

PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of Mach 3 through March 9. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones.

• Periodic lane closures are scheduled weeknights on southbound Route 202 between Robin’s Nest Lane and Old Wilmington Pike in Westtown Township, through Thursday, March 8, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., for utility improvements.

• Northbound U.S. 202 will be reduced to a single lane and two ramps at the U.S. 202 and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass Interchange will be closed at night next week in East and West Whiteland townships, Chester County, for overhead bridge construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The work schedule is Monday, March 5, through Friday, March 9, from 8 p.m. to 5:a.m.  the following morning, and until 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, northbound U.S. 202 will be reduced from two-lanes-to-one between the Boot Road and Route 401 interchanges; same times on Tuesday, March 6, through Friday, March 9, the ramp from northbound U.S. 202 to Business U.S. 30 will be closed. Motorists normally using the ramp will be directed to use northbound U.S. 202 to the Route 401 Interchange, then turn right on Route 401 (Conestoga Road) to reach Business U.S. 30; also on Tuesday, March 6, through Friday, March 9, from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m.  the following morning, and until 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, the ramp from eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 will be closed.  Motorists will be directed to use the Business U.S. 30 exit, turn right on eastbound Business U.S. 30, and right onto the ramp to northbound U.S. 202.

• Sunoco Pipeline has closed Route 352 at Boot Road in East Goshen Township, for pipe installation. The restriction is only for trucks traveling south and turning onto Boot Road. The daily closure will remain in effect through late December.

• Barrier installation continues to cause indefinite lane closures on Brandywine Creek Road, between Green Valley and Powell roads, in Newlin Township

• Motorists should expect daytime lane restrictions on Pyle Road, between Route 202 and Concord Crossing, In Concord Township weekdays through Feb. 23 for utility installation.

• Periodic lane restrictions continue through Oct. 20, on Conchester Highway, between Route 1 and Foulk Road, in Concord Township.

• Station Road, between Concord Road and Conchester Highway, in Concord Township, is closed through Oct. 20, for road construction. Detours are posted.
