Crescent Moon Clothing now open

Gretchen Hulse calls her line of clothing comfy and casual "wearable art." The shop is in Olde Ridge Village but she doesn't keep regular hours.

Crescent Moon Clothing is a new shop in Olde Ridge Village featuring, what owner Gretchen Hulse calls, “wearable art.”

Hulse has been designing and selling her “comfy casual” creations for 24 years. The blouses, skirts and sweaters are dyed and decorated with different surface design techniques, she said. “There’s something for all ages and body types.”

She’s been operating out her home in New Jersey, but recently moved to West Chester, but Hulse isn’t new the local market. She’s also been selling her wares at the Wilmington Flower Show, the Brandywine Art Festival and juried craft festivals.

Unlike most clothing shops, Crescent Moon doesn’t have regular store hours. Hulse refers to it as a "working fashion arts' studio with a showroom for shopping." She’s available by appointment, by chance and during monthly studio events. Her next event is March 22, 23 and 24.

Crescent Moon Clothing is in Suite 20 of the Olde Ridge Village Shops on Ridge Road in Chadds Ford Township.
