Roadwork for Oct. 14 through Oct. 20

PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of Oct. 14 through Oct. 20. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones.

• Nighttime lane restrictions are scheduled next week for Birmingham Road and Kaolin Road. On Sunday, Oct.r 15, through Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. lane restrictions are scheduled on Birmingham Road between Old Wilmington Pike and Route 52 in Birmingham and East Bradford townships, for paving. On Monday, Oct. 16, also from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., lane restrictions are scheduled on Kaolin Road between Ewart Road and the bridge over Red Clay Creek in New Garden and Kennett townships.

• A single lane closure with flagging is scheduled weekdays on Route 41 between Mosquito Lane and Penwyck Lane in London Grove Township, on Monday, Oct. 16, through mid-November, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for resurfacing operations.

• Motorists will encounter intermittent single and double overnight lane closures on Interstate 95 North and South between Route 491 and Bartram Avenue in Delaware County on Monday, Oct. 16, through Saturday, Oct. 21, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for large sign maintenance operations.

• Lane restrictions continue on Newark Road between Route 41 and New Garden Road for construction activities as part of a project to improve travel and safety at the intersection. A spring 2018 completion date is anticipated.

• Curb and sidewalk installation will cause lane closures on West Baltimore Pike between Penns Manor Road and Mill Street in Kennett Township from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. through the end of the year.

• Curb and sidewalk installation will cause lane closures on West Cypress Street Between Scarlett Road and Mill Street in in Kennett Township from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. through the end of the year.

• Curb and sidewalk installation will also cause lane closures on Rosedale Road between Walnut Street and MacFarlan Road through the end of the year.

• Utility installation will cause lane closures on Naamans Road in Concord Township, between Pyle and Shavertown roads on Sept. 25 through Oct. 21.

• Periodic lane restrictions remain in effect on Route 322 between Route 1 and Clayton Park Drive through Oct. 20 as part of the reconstruction and road widening of Route 322.
