Roadwork for Sept. 23 through Sept. 29

PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of Sept. 23 through Sept. 29. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones.

• Expect lane restrictions on Red Lion Road in Pocopson Township, between Lenape Unionville Road and Marlboro Road, on Sept. 25-Sept. 27 for milling. Paving will take place Sept. 26-Sept. 28.

• Pipe cleaning will cause lane closures on Route 926 in Birmingham and Pocopson townships Sept. 25-Sept. 27.

• Milling and paving will cause lane restrictions on Lenape Unionville Road between Red Lion and Lenape roads Sept. 26-Sept. 28.

• Curb and sidewalk installation will cause lane closures on West Baltimore Pike between Penns Manor Road and Mill Street in Kennett Township from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. through the end of the year.

• Curb and sidewalk installation will cause lane closures on West Cypress Street Between Scarlett Road and Mill Street in Kennett Township from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. through the end of the year.

• Curb and sidewalk installation will also cause lane closures on Rosedale Road between Walnut Street and MacFarlan Road through the end of the year.

•  Lane restrictions with flagging continue on Newark Road between Route 41 and New Garden Road through late October, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for widening activities as part of a project to improve travel and safety at the intersection of Route 41 and Newark Road in New Garden Township, Chester County. The project is scheduled to finish in spring 2018.

• Tree removal will cause lane restrictions between Cheyney Road and Springlawn Road, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 25-29.

• Utility installation will cause lane closures on Naamans Road in Concord Township, between Pyle and Shavertown roads on Sept. 25 through Oct. 21.

• Periodic lane restrictions remain in effect on Route 322 between Route 1 and Clayton Park Drive through Oct. 20 as part of the reconstruction and road widening of Route 322.
