Roadwork for Aug. 5 through Aug. 11

PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of Aug. 5 through Aug. 11. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones.

•  Tree removal will cause lane restrictions along Route 322 between New Street and Route 202 in West Goshen Township Thursday, Aug. 10, and Friday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Motorists will encounter lane closures on southbound Route 1 between the Newark Road and Route 41 interchanges in New Garden Township, beginning Monday, Aug. 7, as crews continue rehabilitation of the structurally deficient bridge carrying southbound U.S. 1 over Church Road.

• Lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Newark Road between Route 41 and Starr Road on Monday, Aug. 7, through Saturday, Aug. 12, for widening activities as part of a project to improve travel and safety at the intersection of Route 41 and Newark Road in New Garden Township

The ramp from eastbound Route 30/Exton Bypass to northbound Route 202 is scheduled to close in East Whiteland and West Whiteland townships, on Friday, Aug. 11, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for overhead bridge construction.

• Detours remain in effect on Route 926 because of work on the bridge over the Brandywine Creek between Pocopson and Birmingham townships. The bridge remains closed for repair through Sept. 1.

• Periodic lane restrictions on Route 322 between Route 1 and Clayton Park Drive continue through Oct. 20 as part of the reconstruction and road widening of Route 322.

• Lane closures on Brandywine Creek Road between Green Valley and Powell roads in Newlin Township continue indefinitely for barrier installation.
