Fitness club changes hands

There are changes in the Springwater Plaza on Route 202 in Chadds Ford. The old Slim & Fit studio is now under new ownership and a new name, Beauty and the Beast Fitness Mode.

The idea is to look like a beauty, but work out like a beast, according to a press release.

Carol Elizabeth Malin used to work with computers.  Now, the former information technology specialist works with kettle bells and runs in different networks, teaches about “bites” not “bytes.”

In 2015, after 16 years in the IT industry, Malin became a full time personal trainer and health coach. She is a seasoned athlete, a certified personal trainer and a certified health coach.

“I absolutely love lifting and being strong. It’s incredibly empowering, uplifting, and confidence boosting. Not to mention, lifting has really changed my ‘shape’ as opposed to my ‘size’,” Malin said in the press release.

“See, I am not all about being thin or a certain clothing size.  My philosophy is working with my clients at their different strengths and levels, doing what they love to do instead of pressuring anyone to participate in an exercise they do not enjoy, and accomplishing their goals instead of applying my own onto them.”

Adults in the community are invited to attend the Grand Opening weekend Jan. 19, 20, and 21. On Thursday evening, Jan. 19, everyone is invited to the champagne launch party from 6 to 9 p.m., enjoy a DJ, champagne and hors d’oeuvres, and tour the new facility.

Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be an open house where people may try out the new equipment and discuss your fitness needs.

Beauty and the Beast Mode Fitness is located at 364 Wilmington Pike (Rte. 202) approximately 1.7 miles south of Route 1.  For more information, call 484-212-0001, or visit www.beautyandthebeastmode.com.
