Student faces charges for bomb threat

Charges will be filed against a 16-year-old 10th grade student at Unionville High School for making the bomb threat at the Unionville High School last week, according to East Marlborough Township police.

The Friday, Dec. 16 actions of this student caused the school to be evacuated and subsequently searched by numerous K-9 teams from the Chester County Sheriff’s Office and several Philadelphia area police agencies. Students that were relocated to the middle school were permitted to take their backpacks and belongings with them, further complicating the task of law enforcement.

Two of the K-9 teams were required to leave the high school in order to conduct an explosives search of the area in the middle school where high school students were assembled. East Marlborough Township Police were assisted by Birmingham Township Police, Pennsylvania State Police from Embreeville barracks, and Chester County District Attorney’s office.
