Garnet Mine Road Bridge to close for repair

Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, Dec. 19, to rehabilitate the Garnet Mine Road Bridge over Green Creek in Bethel Township. The bridge is expected to reopen in January 2017, according to state Rep. Stephen Barrar.

During the next six weeks, crews will work to replace a deteriorated wing wall. During the operation, Garnet Mine Road will be closed and detoured between Woods Edge Drive and Brookstone Drive. Motorists will be detoured over Bethel Road and Route 261 (Foulk Road).

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.
